One summer Frank wanted to go up north for a vacation. He had a friend who owned a cabin in the Upper Pennesulia. So they all packed up for the trip up north. DeAnna loved being in the country. When they got there they walked inside. It was rather dusty and had spider webs all over. It wasn't used very often. They all had to help clean after unpacking the car. They had to use the outhouse and pump water from the well. DeAnna slept good that night. It was so quite and peaceful.
There was a river not far they went to. Her mom and Sheila went down under the bridge rolled up their pant legs and walked across the river to a little sandbar.
They meet the neighbors who had a huge barn with cats & kittens everywhere. DeAnna and her brothers would play in the barn. Trying to catch the kittens. They had an old horse DeAnna wanted to ride it but they said when it got tired of you being on it's back, it would turn around and bite you.
Rocky a neighbor Indian boy would come over and take them fishing. He came around alot. DeAnna thought he was so cute. They hung out together alot.
The summer seemed to fly by too fast. And it was time to go back home. DeAnna hated having to leave. She was having so much fun. She said goodbye to Rocky who came by to see them off. She gave him a quick kiss on the check then ran into the car. As they drove off DeAnna watched out the window and Rocky stood there waving goodbye. DeAnna felt the tears roll down her cheek. And she quietly cryed until she fell asleep.

When they got home. They called their dad who was watching Dusty for them. The rest of the week Frank had to work. DeAnna was glad. Dusty had gotten pregnant.
DeAnna woke up one morning her mom and Frank were in the kitchen. She could hear something crying. Dusty had a baby. There was only one and she wouldn't care for it. Frank said she must of ate the others.
Frank took a liken to the puppy. He and her mom took turns feeding it. It was black and so tiny. Frank would carry it in his shirt pocket it was so small. It seemed to grow rather quick. It seemed the dad was a poodle. Frank named him Teddybear.
One day when Sheila was babysitting them it was summer and very hot. Sheila called DeAnna into the house and cut her hair up to her ears! DeAnna hated it! She said she was only gonna trim it.
They next time Joey came around he broke up with her. He said he didn't like her hair cut. DeAnna was pist! That's alright, she thought to herself, he'll regret it someday. DeAnna would make sure of that!
Dusty was being real mean to Teddybear. So Frank decided to get rid of her. They called her dad & grandparents and they said they would take her. DeAnna was so upset she cried for days. How could they do that to her. DeAnna called her grandma everyday to see how she was doing. Grandma told her Dusty saw a girl next door DeAnna's age and said Dusty had tears in her eyes. It was weeks before she finally starting eating good and seemed to be adjusting.
