Christmas Day was only a few days away. Her grandparents and Aunt Ann came by to visit. She felt so happy. She had the old
silver Christmas tree up that grandma gave her. She remembered it from back when she was a child and her parents were still
together. With the old rotating light that shone on it.
To her it was the most special year ever. She finally had a very nice home for her boys. Some very special friends and
a very special boyfriend.
Anthony came by Christmas Eve and brought packages galore. He helped her set them up under the tree. And last of all he
set the small package in the middle.
"Now, don't open it until the morning with the boys. And open it last of all." He said as he walked out the
door. He kissed her then said goodnight. "Merry Christmas." He said as he walked to his car.
"Merry Christmas to you too!" She said as she watched him pull out of the driveway.
That next morning the boys woke her early. They all went down the stairs to the tree. He had bought the boys Nintendo,
and a much of games, toys, candy, shoes and clothes.
The packages she opened was some tapes she loved. Cowboy Junkies two of them. Plus some Tommy Petty, Stevie Nicks and
Heart. A beautiful jacket she told him she wanted from Sherlies's. It was black feathers with a slight gleam of gold all through
it. One package was a book.
Some wine more cigerattes. And the last package. The one she had been really waiting for and wondering about. Was a box
and when she opened it........ it was a bunch of change. Quarters, dimes, nickels and in the middle of it all was $100. She
added it all up and it came up to $300. She could believe it! Well, a bar of gold may have been the same amount. She really
didn't care. She and her boys were HAPPY! One of the best Christmas's ever.
The book Jimmy Buffet "Tales From Margaritaville." He knew how much she loved the islands. He signed the first
page which made her cry such tears of joy. It read:
Well, now it is December 25, 1990
and........ so, Debbie..... it's Christmas,
in about the last of 1990
and
I thought I'd give you this
in hopes that........... well, I guess I
want you and all of us, to find our
own 'Margaritaville' someday..........
and who knows ..... perhaps one day
we'll run into each other there.....
so, until then
enjoy the book & this Christmas
and
don't forget your dreams, so,
here's to: sunshine, palm trees, the
trade winds from the southwest, a
little salt and a lotta tequila and to
good friends & you........ Merry Christmas

Anthony came by that day to say Merry Christmas! She told him she was so happy and thanked him for all the gifts.
"Your welcome!" He said as the boys gathered around him all excited.
"Thank you Anthony!" They all three yelled about jumping up and down.
"Your welcome!" He said as they sat down to play their games. "And did you wait and open the little box
last?"
"Yes! And I couldn't believe it! I thought it was a bar of gold. Of course, it was like that to me."
"Yea, I thought you might think it was. That's why I did that! Well, I cann't stay. Just wanted to stop in and say
Merry Christmas!"
They walked out the door which she shut behind her. "And a very Merry Christmas to you!" She said as she kissed
him goodbye. And again she watched as he pulled off. God what a hunk, she thought as he left. That night after she put the
boys to bed. The fire was kicking she got a glass of wine and laid in her hammocks with the Cowboy Junkies playing. She loved
their music so much. Blue Moon was her favorite. She could feel herself out under the moon light on the beach. As the waves
rolled on the shore waiting for Anthony. What a sweet dream!
