As the bus pulled into Brunswick DeAnna felt so excited to be home. Lorraine was there waiting to pick her up. DeAnna ran
up to her and gave her a big hug. "DeAnna I'm so glad you're back. We really missed you!" Lorraine said as she hugged
her back. DeAnna was in tears. "I'm so excited to be home! It seems like it was long I've been gone!"
"Well, come up lets get your bags and get you to the house." They picked up her bags off the bus and headed
to the car. The sun was shinning and the sky seemed so beautiful on such a fall day.
DeAnna felt so different like she had changed. All that time in there. The crying and thinking that she had did.
Rainey and Scott wanted her to go out to the bar that night. But she didn't want to drink and told them no.
"Oh come on girl! You're free now! Let's go celebrate!" Scotty exclaimed.
"No, thank you guys. You go ahead. I'm just gonna unpack and do some reading." DeAnna said as they headed out
the door. "Have fun! But be careful!"
"Ok! But call us if you need us or change your mind. We'll be at Frisky's." Rainey said and gave her a big hug.
"We're glad you're home!"
DeAnna went to her room. God she was glad to be home. She did some unpacking and pulled out her bible. She laid on the
bed and read until she fell asleep.
DeAnna rode her bike the next morning to St. Simons Island. She got there round noon. Anthony was home sitting in the
hammock on his porch.
"So good to see you!" Anthony said as she got off her bike. "come on and have a seat." He said as
he opened the door and gave her a big hug.
"It's great to see you too!" She sat down in the hammock next to his.
"Would you like some lemonade?" He asked her as he went inside.
"Yea, that would be great! Thank You!"
They sat and talked for an hour. Anthony had to go back to work.
"If you're still around this at 5 stop back by."
"Ok! See ya later!" DeAnna rode her bike to the beach. HOW GREAT IT WAS TO BE FREE AGAIN! She hung out on the
beach until 5 pm. They sat and talked for another hour. And he got a friend of his to give her a ride with her bike back into
Brunswick.
She got into her mediations heavily. God was so good! She felt such peace within her.
Lorraine and Scott had been packing to move to New York. She hated to see them go. She moved in with another lady friend
around the conner. She knew Luz for a lot of years from Esther's Lounge.
