As time went by DeAnna got into a money pinch again. So went back to work at Esther's. Jay had been in and out of jail. Debbie
Wells her babysitter told her he was hitting on her. She was only 16. Jay of course said it was her hitting on him. She didn't
know which one to believe.
That Friday night Lance was up at the bar and he had some acid. She was so upset still about her mom and Jay. She decided
to do some that night. She didn't have to go to school until Monday and the kids were gonna to a friends until Sunday. Lance
was a good friend of hers so they went to her apartment to trip after the bar closed. She hadn't done any drugs since she
was living with her mom in the apartments so many years ago. It was coming up on Christmas she had her apartment decorated
and the tree was up. They listened to music and talked. They got to laughing so hard. All the sudden there was pounding on
the door. It was Jay.
"Open up the door!" Jay yelled.
"Go away!" DeAnna yelled!
The next think she knew Jay had busted down the door. She was in the kitchen when she yelled to him out the window. Lance
was standing in the hallway. Jay jumped on Lance knocking him and the Christmas tree to the ground. Jay was on top of him
just punching away.
"Stop it Jay!" DeAnna called out as she tried to get him off Lance. "Leave Lance alone!" She managed
to pull Jay up.
"Lance?" Jay said.
"Yes, Lance!" DeAnna said as she helped Lance off the floor.
"Oh man! I'm sorry Lance!" Jay said. "I thought it was Paul here."
"No it's me." Lance said as he straightened out his shirt. His face was bleeding.
"Here let me get you a cold rage." DeAnna said walking into the kitchen.
"I heard you two in here laughing. I just thought it was Paul. Paul was a married guy who came up to the bar. DeAnna
was so attracted to him. And he kept his eye on her whenever he was up there. Jay knew about it and thought she had him over.
"I was told you were doing some acid. So came here to check up on you and make sure you were all right." Jay
exclaimed as he picked up the Christmas tree to fix it.
Lance decided he needed to head home and left.
"Thanks a lot Jay!" She said as she headed up stairs to go to bed. Jay came up behind her and got into bed with
her. DeAnna didn't want to touch him. The rest of the night she felt like she was laying next to a evil vampire. Wow, what
a trip.
That next morning she told him she didn't want to see him anymore. She couldn't stand the thought of how he was playing
around with her babysitter. A MINOR AT THAT!!! Plus his being in and out of jail so much with his drug problem she might as
well be alone. Jay left rather upset. But she just had enough.
A few weeks later she heard Heart was playing in Jacksonville FL. She always loved Stevie Nicks, her idol, and Heart!
She knew she had to go see Heart in concert. So she talked with her neighbor, Regina, to see if she wanted to go with her.
It was on a Sat night so she would have to take the night off from the bar. She said 'Hell Yea'!
So the following weekend they headed down to J-ville. It was about a 45 minute drive. They planned to pay at the door.
But they sold out. They had already drove that far so decided to hit a nite club. They found a place called Play Ground South.
DeAnna was dressed to kill. She had wore her suede beaded dress with feathers and beads that was skin tight. Which looked
similar to a Indian Dress. With her suede boots that matched. When they first walked in she felt Dijavue. It was liked she
felt she was there before but yet she knew she was never there before. When you first walked in you came up to a bar and behind
it was tables a few steps down. With a stage in front of them. On the other side of the bar was a closed in glass game room.
Down from that was another closed in glass game room and across from that another bar and behind that was more tables with
a cafeteria bar to order things to eat. Next to the first set of tables with the stage was a big screen tv. They were playing
music videos since there was no band playing. And somehow DeAnna felt like she had been on that screen tv even though she
knew she never had. They were there a bit early since they missed the concert. After they took a walk through the place they
decided to order a drink at the first bar. At the time there wasn't too many people in the place. They found out that they
sold t-shirts there with every band that played there within each year. They were old but famous bands such as Deep Purple,
Grand Funk Railroad, Kiss, Lenard Syknard who was from J-ville, Thin Lizzy, Styx, Van Halen and so many others that they loved.
As the night went on more people came in. They were really having a good time and got to talking to others around them.
The guy who came in and sat down next to DeAnna ordered her a drink right a way. She had found out that he worked nights as
a guard when the bands played there. His name was Mike Deroser and he introduced his best friend Dennis who was the manager
of 38 Special, who she loved too. Mike was very good looking and very sweet to her.
DeAnna was having so much fun being there. Brunswick GA didn't have any clubs like this. Mike bought her drinks, Wild
Turkey 101 and water, for the rest of the night. At closing time they knew they had to head back to home. Mike told her he
wanted to go with her to GA. He said since he had found an angel like her he wasn't gonna let her just go. DeAnna wasn't sure
at first. But then she asked Regina and she said 'Yea Go For It'. So he ordered them all double shot drinks to go. And they
headed back to GA.
They really had a great time that night. That morning, which was Sunday, he hung around there with her for the day. But
had to head back home to get back to work for Monday morning. So she took him back to J-ville. He lived in Orange Park on
the river and had a awesome home. The living room had large windows that over looked the river. He had a long dock. He walked
her down. The river was so wide around a 1/4 mile. It ran into the ocean. She loved it. Mike told her how before the plane
crashed he and the guys would run their speed boat down the river so fast that one time they flipped it. It broke the boat
in two and they were lucky to be alive. They had to swim back into shore and Mike almost didn't make it. They had to swim
to the other side.
That evening he cooked for her. He had a grill type stove inside and cooked steaks that were awesome. His bed was liked
two of her queen sized put together. That morning he had to get up early but told her when she was ready to leave, she had
to work that night at the bar, to just lock the door. But to call him that evening before she went in to work. So she called
him that evening.
DeAnna called Mike every night that week. She closed up the bar that next Sat night and headed right down to his place.
She stayed until Mon afternoon. It was summer and the boys were out of school. So she arranged for them to stay at the babysitters.
She brought her bathing suit so Sunday she could lay on the dock and tan. That evening he took her by some friends. It was
members left from Lynard Skynard. She enjoyed their company. It was amazing to be at one of her top bands she loved! Then
he took her out to eat. Monday she spent the day there while he was at work. She enjoyed her coffee looking out at the river
on the couch. The she cleaned up the house then laid in the sun. She had a killer weekend and hated to head back to Brunswick.
She headed down to J-ville every Sat for a few months. They get together with some of his friends and Dennis and take
the speed boat out on the river. She really enjoyed that.
