Anthony's birthday was coming up. He said he wanted to take her out to dinner. So she said yes. They were giving him a couple hours off for his birthday. She didn't have any money to buy him anything much. And she wouldn't know what to get him anyway. So she wrote him a poem and found a piece of drift wood she took gold tack nails to nail it too. Then she bought some gloss to spray it over with. It was a very romantic poem.
That night she was rather excited. She wasn't sure what to wear. She figured he take her to a very nice place. So she wore her pink silk dress with a pink bow in her hair. She loved being with him. He was so good to her. He picked her up and she gave him his present. He opened it and read it. A slight tear came to his eye. He coughed and wiped it away acting like he wasn't crying.
"That is very sweet!" He said as he hugged and kissed her.
"Here! I got something for you!"
"What?" She said as he handed her the box. "It's your birthday you're suppose to get the presents!"
"Well, this is just something little."
She opened it up and it was a jacket. It was silk with fringe all over it. "I love it!" She said as she put it on.
"I got it from the Clositer. It's a limited addition. They only made 10 in three different colors."
"Boy, you're something else!"
"I know! He said as he smiled that sheepish smile of his. Which she loved.
"Try it on!" He said.
So DeAnna put it on over her dress. It fit good. "I think I'll wear it tonite!"
"Good! I like it with that dress! So you ready to go?"
"Sure, bye boys. Be good for the babysitter!"
"Alright! We will have fun! Bye Anthony!" They all yelled. They really liked him.
"Bye Guys!"
They rode into town to eat. She never had duck before so they were going to a Chinese restaurant. She loved Chinese and so did he. When they got there the place was empty.
"Are you sure they're open?" She asked as they walked up to the door.
"Yes, they're open. I payed the man to close for the night so me and you could eat here alone together."
"Wow!" He was constantly blowing her mind with surprises! She was really falling in love with this guy. The meal was excellent. She didn't care too much for the duck but it was alright. He knew she liked to drink so he bought her some sockie. Which she didn't like at all. So he bought her some red wine.
The night was fabulous! She felt like a princess. She hated he had to take her home so early that night. But he had to get back to work. He walked her to the door. And kisses her! It was so soft and gentle. And he breathed his breathe into hers. It was like the ocean waves rolling over the sand. Emerncing her body into his. His muscles were so big. Never in her life had she kissed a man so strong and manly. His chest was even wider than her husband Steve's ever was. She was lost ecsaty.
That night she got her a bottle of red wine and sat in her hammocks in front of the fire. Which the boys and the babysitter started. Listening to some mellow music with all the lights out. And dreamed of being in his arms.

Christmas was coming up. She put up her tree and some lights round the house. Her and the boys made some Christmas cookies. She loved eating cookie dough. They were chocolate chip which they loved. They started eating so much dough they were getting a tummy ache. They started laughing because they didn't feel good from the cookie dough. When the cookies were done they couldn't eat any.
The refrigerator didn't work good enough to keep things real cold so DeAnna put the jello outside to get hard. It was cold enough to get hard outside. As she came back in the house she noticed there was a water hose hanging out the boys bedroom window. AND IT HAD KNOTS IN IT! She just kinda blew it off not thinking much of it.
Along with working with Jim as a typesetter she had put together a business of her own. She worked it through the post office box. She called it 'Love Connections'. She was from Detroit and as long as she lived here she knew other than the bars it was hard to meant someone to date. So she put together a way for people to meet through the mail. She even had the phone number 638-LOVE! She did up her own fliers, ads and did her own print work. Anthony thought she was joking at first. But then got a kick out of it that she took it that far. He even took a picture of her with her first check that came in the mail in front of the fireplace.
Then one weekend she stopped by to visit with Anthony. They were just sitting on the hammocks like always. And he asked her to come inside.
"Here! Feel this!" He said as he handed her a small type box all wrapped up. "Just hold it. Don't shake it, just feel it!"
So she took the box and held it. It was rather small but long AND HEAVY! IT FELT LIKE A TON! She didn't know what it could be.
"What is it?"
"You'll find out on Christmas Day."
"Oh yea! And by the way here's another tape I made for you!" He always made her tapes of oldies. A lot that she heard and a lot that she didn't. He knew she loved the 50's music, 'Angel Baby' by the Lowriders was one she really loved.
She went home that night wondering what it could be. It was heavy enough and in the same exact shape as a bar of gold. No, it couldn't be! Could it? Man, that would be awesome! A bar of gold for Christmas! Yea, he had the money. It could be! She fell asleep dreaming some very sweet dreams.
